Last Man Standing
PROJECT 'A'
The title was created for the art show consisting of a wide range of Ali Nurazmal's artwork in his Imitation and reinterpretation of the great masters of Italian classic past (Renaissance and Baroque) in Malaysia context. This series was produced within 10 years and have been introduced in 2009 at his 1st solo show 'Satire In Paint' at Pace Gallery.
Since the introduction of 'Alism' in 2012 at Core Design Gallery, Ali has consistently has been building the look that he believes can represent the Malaysian contemporary art scene.
Project 'A' - Last Man Standing show can be traced as a narrative of the societal changes of Malaysia since independence to the vision of 2020 by Tun Mahathir.
Project 'A' is an important observational series as different works produce at different timelines alludes to all the dimensions politically, economically, socially, spiritually, psychologically & culturally.
In conjunction with Project 'A' - Last Man Standing, there will be a special group show under the name of Craven 'A' will be featured.
Project 'A' - Last Man Standing will be held at the National Art Gallery Malaysia with the patronage of the Embassy of Italy, Kuala Lumpur and will be curated by Benedetta Segala. This show is organized by Alism Sdn Bhd & Core Design Gallery.





Group Show
CRAVEN 'A'
The name Craven 'A' was taken from the famous Northern Penang Nasi Kandar restaurant. Which is located in the city center since 1920. This restaurant used to be the meeting point to exchange conversations, ideas while having a meal.
Each of these artists represents all the four northern states Perlis, Kedah, Penang & Perak. They have been involved in the art scene actively for the past 10 years in numerous art shows.
This special group show will be curated by Benedetta Segala.
